Past Lives is a band from Seattle, Washington. The band formed out of the breakup of The Blood Brothers in late 2007. All four members of the band are formerly of The Blood Brothers, though Devin Welch was only with the band through the recording of their first album, Rumors Laid Waste.
The band created a Myspace page in late 2007 and posted a message:
| “ | We are currently holed up in a Belltown sublet, getting songs together for our first release. We're all quite excited to be playing music together, and hopefully we'll have songs up for you to hear soon.[1] | ” |
Devin has also more recently stated:
| “ | We are working out details of the release of the 5 song EP right now. It will probably be available for download and limited run of CD's at first and then Vinyl and Proper CD release soon after. The Journal of Popular Noise Release is 5 songs/sound events, composed using a preset structure. The 5 pieces we wrote for this are initially only available on vinyl but when the limited run sells out we will have them in downloadable form as well. West coast tour in September and after that no solid plans. | ” |
On August 4, the band released their first album, the Strange Symmetry EP[2]. It was released digitally with no prior announcement, similarly to The Slip by Nine Inch Nails. CD and Vinyl copies will be released November 4th by Suicide Squeeze. It is assumed the band has signed with the label, as Suicide Squeeze is listed as their record label on the band's myspace.
